Copying Forms

You can copy an existing form to a new form from either the same program or another program in the same product line and system code. This saves time when you want to paint a form that is similar to an existing form. You can copy the form that is similar, then add or delete fields on the new form.

To copy a form

  1. On the Program Definition form, select the program for which you want to copy a form, press Define (F6), and choose Paint Program.
  2. On the Database Structure-Program Structure form, press Define (F6), choose Quick Form, then choose Copy Form.

    The Copy Form window appears.

As you move the light bar from form to form in the Copy Form window, the name of the selected form appears in the title bar in the upper right corner of the Copy Form window. You can select bold-faced forms only.

  3. Select the form you want to copy and press Mark or OK.

After the system copies the form, the Database Structure-Program Structure form appears. The system puts the copied form to the right of the form the cursor was on when you pressed Define (F6).
