Test the LDAPS connection

Perform this procedure to verify the LDAPS connection.

  1. From a command window in LSF, run the security configuration utility by typing the command: lsconfig -l

Success returns a set of configuration attributes indicating a successful connection to LDAP.

Failure returns the message, "initial configuration seems to be missing."

  2. If your test results in an invalid configuration, recheck the values. Following are some reasons for invalid configuration:
    • The LDAP Bind password was incorrect.
    • The connection details were incorrect.
    • Permissions to the key container file was not granted to Network Service.
    • Incorrect SSL certificate was used.
    • If AD LDS is on a remote server, a cryptography mismatch (for example, TLS 1.0 instead of TLS 1.2) may be occurring
