Assigning the IFS Role to Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) Groups

Note:

If you are using ADFS, follow the steps below to assign the security role that you created in IFS. If you are not using ADFS, skip this procedure.

In this procedure you will assign the security role that you created in IFS, for example, "InforLawson," to a user or a group of users in Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le).

Note:

You will need to complete these steps for each plugin you are installing.

  1. Log in to Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) as a Site Administrator. Typically, this is the user spinstall.
  2. From the toolbar menu, select Site Settings > Site Permissions. Available groups are listed.
  3. Click the SharePoint group to which you want to assign the IFS role and then click Add Users/ Add Users to this Group. (In the example the group is "Lawson S3.")
  4. From the ADFS Identity Provider list, perform a search for the IFS security role. Be sure to specify the role name exactly. SharePoint does not validate these names.
  5. Hover the mouse in the search results to view the Security Role tool tip text.
    Note:

In this example, the role is InforLawsonS3.

  6. Select the name of the security role you want to assign and click Add.
  7. Click Share to complete the role assignment.
  8. Test the assignment by verifying that a regular user (not a security administrator) who has the role assigned can access the site.
  9. Repeat the steps above for each plugin you are installing.
