Configuring only selected services to be synchronized

The ISS administration dashboard can be used to specify the services to be synchronized and to perform a sync of only the selected services.

Configure this way if one of these scenarios apply:
  • If you use an application that allows users to self-register, for example, Candidate Space and Vendor Portal, you use this procedure to ensure that candidates and vendors are excluded from the sync. This is because, typically, the self-registered users are on a domain outside the firewall and should not be added to your corporate LDAP.
  • If you have created a unique database service for your site, you would want to exclude the database service from routine synchronization.

Both LSF and Landmark must have sync service lists configured. If both systems do not have lists configured then only the required synced services is synced from the system that does not have a list configured.

  1. From the administration console dashboard, select Federation > Configure Services for Synchronization to display the list of LSF services.
  2. Select the LSF services to sync and clear those to be excluded.
Some services, such as SSOP, are required and cannot be cleared.
  3. To move on to the list of Landmark services, click Next.
  4. Select the Landmark services to sync and clear those to be excluded.
Some services, such as SSOPv2, are required and cannot be cleared.
  5. Click Save.

You receive a notification when the sync services are successfully updated in the properties file.
