Permanently deleting user monitoring data

If you want to permanently delete old user monitoring data that you no longer need, you can do so using the ssoconfig command line utility. The command prompts you for the end date for records to delete. All records prior to and including the date you specify are permanently deleted from the user monitoring database and cannot be reinstated.

  1. Run the ssoconfig utility. At a command window, type

    ssoconfig -c

and then at the prompt type the security administrative password.

  2. From the main ssoconfig menu, select "Manage Database."
  3. From the Manage Database menu, select "Purge Monitoring Data."
  4. At the prompt, specify the end date in the format MM/DD/YYYY.

A message that the cleanup process might take some time to complete appears. This is because database tables are being updated. You do not need to wait for the processing to complete before exiting ssoconfig.

  5. Select "Back" to return a previous menu or "Exit" to exit ssoconfig.
  6. If you want to verify if the records have been deleted, you can:
    • Check the file LAWDIR/system/security_persistence.log

    • Manually verify the contents of User Monitoring database tables
