Pre-Federation Prerequisites and Procedures

After two systems are federated, they are integrated to a degree that they cannot be returned to their pre-federated states. To be prepared for any contingency, you must have a backup strategy that supports federation.

Note: Supported authentication methods are Infor OS as STS, AD FS and Kerberos.

Systems that will be federated must use the same authentication protocol

Prior to being federated, both systems must use the same authentication protocol.

  • Example 1:

Your Infor Lawson System Foundation system authenticates via Kerberos and you want to federate to a Infor Landmark Technology system. You must configure Infor Landmark Technology for Kerberos authentication.

    Example 2:

Your Infor Lawson System Foundation system authenticates through ADFS / ldapbind and you want to federate to a Infor Landmark Technology system. You must configure Infor Landmark Technology for Infor Security as Security Token Service / ldapbind authentication.

  • Test user authentication on each system before federating.

Perform full system backups of all systems

Infor requires all customers to perform complete restorable backups of the following system:

  • Infor Lawson System Foundation (LSF)

  • Landmark Technology

  • Your LDAP user repository

Note: The following locations contain security-related configuration files:

LSF:

  • LDAP

  • LAWDIR/system

    • lsservice.properties

    • .ssokeystore

    • .authen.dat

Landmark:

LASYSDIR:

  • lsservice.properties

  • .ssokeystore

  • .authen.dat
