Create a domain, an endpoint group, and an endpoint

You or your system administrator must use the ssoconfig utility to perform the steps outlined in this section.

Detailed instructions can be found by searching the help system for the topic,"Configuring Multiple Endpoints for External and Internal Web Servers."

  1. Create a new ssoDomain. The primary service that you choose when you perform this step, will control the external logins.
  2. Create an http endpoint group.
  3. Create a new http endpoint. This endpoint should point to your external web server. When configuring the endpoint, when you are prompted for ssoDomain, make sure to select the ssoDomain you created in step 1.
  4. Assign the endpoint to the endpoint group you just created.
  5. Assign the endpoint to the primary service of the ssoDomain you created in step 1.
Note: At this point, you have not activated the rule file to control what users can or cannot do from this external endpoint. Until you do so, users can access the same applications and data as they can when they access the system internally.
