Lawson Environment Variables

This section describes where programs, configuration files, and other content necessary to administer Lawson.

Lawson groups files by type and uses a system of variables, called environment variables, to stand for the locations where these groups of files are installed. During installation customers specify actual paths for these variables. For the most part, the variables can be used in commands. The following table lists the variables and describes the general contents of each location.

On IBM i, some locations specified here are symbolic links to the actual locations within the IBM i file system. These include C program files and certain types of work files.

Note: In the tables that follow, a "/" (forward slash character) is used to designate a directory or subdirectory ("folder" in Windows terminology). File names are not preceded by slashes.
