Test a New Lawson User

If you have assigned roles to the new user, you can perform some simple smoke tests to determine if a new user has been successfully added to Infor Lawson System Foundation through the Infor Lawson Security Administrator.

To perform initial smoke tests of a new Infor Lawson user

  1. Attempt to log in the system with the user's SSOP identity user ID and password. The user should be able to run Lawson Portal and open the home page.

    If the user does not yet have any roles assigned, he or she should not yet be able to run any forms or access data.

  2. If the user has been assigned some roles, access some of the forms or reports that should be available through a role to determine if the user has basic access.
  3. if the user also uses applications running under Lawson Landmark Technology, make sure that the user has been added to the Lawson Landmark Technology user security. This should happen behind-the-scenes. (You should have received an error message if the user was not successfully added to Landmark.)
