Generating the identity file template

This procedure describes how to run ssoconfig to generate a template file for identities for a service or agent.

Before you perform this procedure, the service or agent must already exist.

  1. Run the ssoconfig utility. From the command line, type

    ssoconfig -c

  2. At the prompt, type the ssoconfig utility password.
  3. From the list of functions, type "5" to select "Manage Lawson Services."
  4. At the next menu, type "4" to select "Generate identity template file for service."
  5. At the prompt, "Enter the name of service you want to generate template for," type the name of the service.

The service must already exist; if it does not, you will have to terminate the ssoconfig session.

  6. At the prompt, "Enter file name to save template," type a path and file name for the XML file. Be sure to include the .xml file extension. For example,

    c:/my_file_path/my_xml_file.xml

If you do not include a file path, the file will be stored in the current directory.

When you are finished, the message "Template file for service name has been generated and save as filename."

  7. Review the identity file template. It should look similar to the file shown in the following example although the attributes will vary depending on the type of service or agent for which you are generating a template.
