Changing the password at the command line as a recovery mechanism

Use this method to create a new ssoconfig utility password if you have forgotten the password but have not configured an e-mail address to receive the recovered password.

This method does not actually recover the password. It simply assigns a new one. This is not the most secure way to change a password, because anyone who has access to the command line could theoretically change the ssoconfig utility password. Typically, it is better to recover the ssoconfig password through e-mail.

  1. Run the ssoconfig utility. From a command prompt, type

    ssoconfig —p

  2. When the prompt, "Enter the new password for Lawson security utilities" appears, type the new password and then press Enter.

You will be prompted to confirm the password. You should receive the message, "Password is changed successfully."
