Changing the Default Value of a Resource Management Attribute

Use this procedure to change the Lawson-delivered value of an attribute.

For example, Lawson delivers a default role for users, default.xml and, by default, the PortalRole attribute is populated with this role. If you or the Lawson Portal administrator has created a new role file for users that should be used as a default, you would follow this procedure to change the default value.

  1. From the Schema Editor main menu, click RM Atributes.
  2. Right-click on the attribute for which you want to change the default value (for example, PortalRole) and then select Properties.

    The Properties dialog box appears.

  3. For the Default Value attribute, type the actual string that you want to appear when you add a new entry for this object.

For example, if you are changing the name of the role attribute, type the new name of the default role file, for example, MyDefaultRole.xml.

  4. Click Okay to complete changing the attribute default value.

The new default value will not take effect until you have generated an LDIF file and loaded the changed schema to your LDAP server.
