How Lawson Security applies security to jobs and reports

The following illustration shows the levels of security that any batch job goes through. These levels are supplied through Lawson Security classes and rules and through security that is built into the application through which the user submits the batch job (programmatic security).

The illustration compares reports access requirements to drill access requirements. If you have access to a report parameter form, you automatically have access to the tables needed to generate the report. However, drills that are available on a report parameter screen (for example, Company and Process Level drills) are treated like all other drills. A user must be specifically granted access to the tables used by drills.

In all cases, any programmatic security (for example, Company/Process Level or HR Security) will automatically be executed.
