Other Security Setup Tasks for Road Rager

This section describes some other set up tasks that Road Rager needed to perform to complete their security implementation.

Link security classes to roles

Security classes that were created on-site were linked to roles so that they could be assigned to users. The table shows the linking that the Road Rager security administrators performed.

System Maintenance Engineer SuperAdminRole

Create groups as needed

Most Lawson user groups are stored in Resource Management. They are assigned to users through the Group attribute. Part of the analysis phase of implementing Lawson Security is determining what user groups will be needed.

Groups should be created before users are added to the system so that group assignments can be made when the user is added. The Resource Management Administrator, not the Lawson Security Administrator, is the tool used for creating groups.

Road Rager determined that the only groups they needed were for assigning bookmarks (links to content that appear in users' workspaces). In consultation with the Lawson Portal administrator, the security administrator created the following groups:

  • APMgrBkmk

  • APClkBkmk

Users who need to be members of these groups will be assigned to them when they are added to the system.
