Installing Lawson Portal files

Use these instructions for installing a new environment on the Infor Lawson server and on the web server.

A backup of your existing installation is created as part of the installation process. You can find the backups in these locations:

  • For LAWDIR persistdata components:

    $LAWDIR/system/backup

  • For WEBDIR components:

    /lawson/portal/instances/backup

  1. Ensure that you are in the InstallDirectory.
  2. To start the install program, specify this text:

    java -jar XXX.jar

    where

    xxx is the file name for this product.

    The installer launches in GUI mode.

  3. If you are installing Lawson Portal on the Infor Lawson server for the first time, perform these steps:
    1. On the Installation Packages window, select Lawson Portal.
    2. Click Next.
    3. On the Infor Installer window, select Install a new Environment and specify a name for the new environment.
    Note: For local installations where Infor Lawson and the web server are on the same server, you must perform the installation procedures on the Infor Lawson server twice. Install for the Lawson Portal and Lawson Portal Web Server Files options.

    For remote installations where Infor Lawson and the web server are on separate servers, you must perform the installation procedures twice. Install the Lawson Portal option on the Infor Lawson server and the Lawson Portal Web Server Files option on the web server.

  4. If you are installing a new installation of Lawson Portal on a web server, perform these steps:
    1. On the Installation Packages window, select Lawson Portal Web Server Files.
    2. Click Next.
    3. On the Infor Installer window, select Install a new Environment and specify a name for the new environment.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Verify the install locations in the Installation Summary dialog box and click Next to start the installation.

    To view the installation progress in real time, click Detail.

  7. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
  8. Check the Installation Log. Check the log file
  9. Review the post-installation tasks and perform any required tasks.
  10. If your web server is the same as the Infor Lawson server and you selected the Lawson Portal option, repeat the steps in this procedure to install the files on the web server by selecting the Lawson Portal Web Server Files option on the Installation Packages window.
