Update an existing instance of Lawson Portal on the web server

You can use the installer to update your existing instance of Lawson Portal on the web server and set up Responsive Web Help.

Note: This release of Lawson Portal is compatible with a new type of help called Responsive Web Help. When you install Lawson Portal, you can select Responsive Web Help for your users. Users can access Responsive Web Help through the Infor public website docs.infor.com.
  1. On the Installation Packages window, select Lawson Portal Web Server Files.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Select Update an existing Portal and select an existing instance name in the Available Portals field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. When selecting the install option, you can redeliver the web server files or update the web server files:
    • Reload: Redeliver the web server files. This option is displayed if you have already installed the same version once.
    • Update: Update the web server files.
    • Delete: Delete the web server files.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select an option in the Update URL Endpoint? field:
    • Yes: Modify the online help URL.
    • No: You can use the provided URL to access the Infor public website. This is the default option.

    To retrieve the default URL, click the Help button to access the Help Text dialog box in the Infor Lawson Applications Online Documentation window of the Lawson Portal installer.

  8. Click Next.
  9. Verify the installation locations in the Installation Summary.
    To change the directory name for the Lawson Portal web data, click Previous.
  10. Click Update.
    If you have already installed the same version once, click Reload.
  11. When the update is complete, click Finish.
