How the Lawson Portal determines which role file to use

If you are using a combination of default and custom roles, these checks are made by the web-tier layer of the Environment:

  1. Checks the Resource Management Role attribute for the name of a role file for the user.
  2. Checks the application server location: /PersistData/lawson/YourLawsonPortal/data/roles to ensure the specified file is actually there. If a role file other than the default role file is specified but is not in the location, the default role file will be used.
  3. If the role attribute for a user is blank, which could only happen if a security administrator had removed the Lawson-delivered default but had not provided a replacement, an error message will appear and the role will not load.
