Translating a Value List

This procedure allows you to translate value lists.

For more information, see the section The Language Definition Utility and the Language Definition Form and Value Lists.

To translate a value list

  1. On the Language Definition form, select a language other than U. S. English.
  2. Press Xlate (F6) and select Value Lists.
  3. On the Value Translation form, select the Value field to the right of the value translation to be translated, and type the value.
  4. Select the Translation field next to the translation to be translated and type your translation.

    If the Value Translation form does not have enough space to display the translation of the value's translation, press Define (F6) to use the Extended Value Translation subform.

    1. In the Value field, type the value.
    2. In the Translation field, type the extended translation.
    3. Press Enter.

      The Extended Value Translation subform closes. If the extended translation is longer than the Value Translation form can display, a right arrow appears at the end of the field to indicate that an extended translation is defined.

  5. Press Enter twice to save the translations.

    The Language Definition form returns.
