Deleting a Language Definition via langdef

Use the following procedure to delete a language definition.

If a locale uses a language or dialect, you cannot delete the language or dialect. You must first delete the locales that use the language or dialect, or you must assign a different language or dialect to the locale.

Note: When you delete languages and dialects, any translations defined for the language and dialect are deleted also. If you delete a language with a dialect, the system deletes the language, its dialect, and the translations for both.

For more information, see the section Languages and Dialects.

To delete a language definition

  1. On the Language Definition form (langdef), select the language or dialect to delete.
  2. Press Delete (F9).

The system removes the language or dialect from the Language Definition form.

  3. Press Enter twice to delete the language or dialect and its translations.
