Infor Lawson administration tools

You use a variety of tools to perform administrative tasks. In some cases, more than one tool can be used to accomplish a task. The following tools are available for administrative tasks:

You can also use these non-Lawson tools for some tasks:

  • An LDAP viewer, either one that comes as part of your LDAP or one you acquire separately. This is for troubleshooting or double-checking the Lawson resource and security data stored in LDAP. You should not directly edit this data in LDAP.

  • IBM WebSphere Administrative console

  • IBM Web Administration for i5/OS, for managing web servers (available through the i5/OS Tasks window)

  • IBM Client Access, for access to the IBM i command line and libraries

  • Qshell for running some Lawson utilities

  • IBM i PDM editor

  • WordPad for editing configuration files in the IFS

Note: Notepad does not properly handle the carriage returns in Lawson configuration files. Use WordPad instead. (You can also use the EDTF command in Client Access to edit configuration files in IFS.)
