To define a distribution group

  1. As a Lawson Portal administrator, navigate to LSF Administration Tools > Distribution Group Definitions.
  2. Specify or select the following information:
    Distribution Group

Specify a unique name for the distribution group.

    Description

Provide a short description of the distribution group.

    Username

The user you want to add.

  3. Click Add Member.
  4. For the user, specify this information:
    Auto Print

Determines whether to print the print file on a printer. The default is No (the check box is not selected).

If you select the Auto Print check box, the system prints all print files distributed to this user on the printer in the Printer field.

If you do not select the Auto Print check box, it means that when you send a print file or report to the distribution group, the system does not print the print file assigned to this user. Instead, when the job runs, the system makes the report available to the user through the Print Manager.

    Save

If you select the Save check box, the report is available to the user through the Print Manager.

If you do not select the Save check box, the report is not available to the user through the Print Manager.

You cannot clear the Save check box if you selected the Auto Print check box.

The system creates only one physical copy on the server hard drive, regardless of the number of users the job was distributed to.

    Printer

If you selected the Auto Print check box, select a printer from the list of those available for the user These are printers in the user's printer group.

If you did not select the Auto Print check box, you must leave this field blank.

    Copies

The number of copies to be printed on the printer designated in the Printer field.

Note: The number of printed copies does not include the copy that the system sends to the Print Manager.

If you did not select the Auto Print check box, you must leave this field blank.

  5. Repeat the process to add more users.

If you need to delete a user from a printer group definition, select the user and click Remove.

  6. Click Save.
