Overriding Print Files
Override Print Files (LA60.1) overrides user defaults for spool files. This changes the print attributes of a spool file.
-
There are several levels of overrides that are explained below from the most detailed to the most generic:
-
Print File Name. Enter the exact name of the individual print file to override only that specific report. For example, GL210_PRT.
-
RW100 has a special feature to override all reports set up with specified characters per inch. For example, RW100158 will override all RW100 reports using a CPI of 158.
Note: Individual request names will still be overridden separately if they are defined by their exact name. -
Enter the two-character system name to override all programs for that system code. For example, GL. If the first two characters of a program name do not match a system code, then these programs can be overridden separately.
-
In Override Print Files (LA60.1), you can define an *OTHER value. These parameters override the print file and apply to all reports that do not have a different override assigned to them. When a report runs, the system first looks to see if the report has an override defined in Override Print Files (LA60.1) for any of the levels described above--for example, CHECKS, which would change the forms type to print the report on check forms. If none is found, then the system looks to see if *OTHER has been defined and, if it has been defined, those parameters will be used.
