Defining a Printer

Before a printer can be defined as an output destination in Lawson, you must configure the printer on your platform or network.

Use this procedure to define a printer as an output destination.

  1. Access the Printer Definition utility.

    From the System Administration menu, choose Printer Definition.

    - or -

    At the command prompt, type:

    prtdef

  2. Move to the blank line at the bottom of the list of printers or press Insert (F8) to insert a blank line.
  3. On the Printer Definition form, type the following data.
    Name

    A unique name for the printer. This name must match the printer name (output queue) as defined in IBM i.

    Description

    A short unique description of the printer.

    Print Command

    Not applicable.

  4. 4.Press Tab to exit the Description field. (If you do not tab out of this field, your changes will not be saved.).
  5. Press Enter twice to save the printer definition.
