Assigning a Job Queue Default

This procedure lets you assign default job queues for data areas/data IDs, applications (system codes), form ID prefixes, and form IDs so that you can direct all batch activity for these to a specific job queue.

Before you can assign default job queues to form ID prefixes or form IDs, you must create entries for these in the $LAWDIR/system/jqdflt_ext.cfg file. For more information, see Enabling Default Job Queues for Form ID Prefixes and Form IDs.

  1. Access the Job Queue Defaults utility.
    1. In a Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) session, use Form Transfer (F8).
    2. In the Form ID field on the Form Transfer form, type jqdflt and click the OK button or press Enter.

The Job Queue Defaults form appears.

    Data Area/ Data ID

Name of the product line data area/data ID to which you are assigning a job queue.

    Job Queue

The job queue you want to be the default for the data area/data ID. The default for this field is the default job queue for the Environment, QBATCH. You can only select job queues that are in the job queue group assigned to your user profile.

  3. Assign job queues to applications, form ID prefixes, or form IDs. Move to the detail portion of the form and select a default job queue for the items as needed. If you leave this field blank, the application will use the data area/data ID job queue default.
  4. Press Enter twice to save.
