Assigning Environment Groups to Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) Administrators

Use this procedure to assign the Environment groups needed by Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) administrators who need to run batch jobs and distribute reports and print files. Note that there are prerequisites and dependencies between some of the Environment groups that are noted in the description for each field on the Modify Lawson Environment Information screen.

This procedure assumes you have created the necessary resources (printers, job queues, users) and the Environment groups (user groups, printer groups, job queue groups, distribution groups, and distribution list groups).

To assign a Environment groups to Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) administrators

  1. In the Lawson Security Administrator, navigate to User Maintenance and perform an inquiry for users.
  2. Right-click on the user you need you need to assign a printer group to and select Edit Lawson Environment Information.
  3. On the Modify Lawson Environment Information screen, consider the following fields:
    User Group

    Select a user group from the list. The list only includes those user groups that the user is a member of.

    Printer Group

    Select a printer group from the list.

    Job Queue Group

    Select a job queue group for the user.

    Dist List Group

    Select a distribution list group from the list. Before you can select a distribution list group for a user, you must have assigned a user group and a printer group. Also, the distribution list group must contain a distribution group that the user is a member of.

  4. Click Change from the Edit menu.
