Recovering a job

You can recover a waiting job with these statuses:

  • Needs Recovery – a job that failed during the execution or processing
  • Invalid Parameter – a job with a missing parameter upon the execution
Note: Before attempting to recover the job, you must first correct the problem associated with it. Additionally, you cannot recover a job on Waiting on Recovery status until you have recovered a job on Needs Recovery status that uses the same program.

When you recover a job, the system uses restart information, as appropriate, to continue processing from the point where the initial execution failed.

  1. 1. Access the Job Schedule form.
  2. Click the Waiting Jobs tab.

After clicking the Waiting Jobs tab, the Job Schedule form shows only the jobs on Waiting on Recovery status, Needs Recovery status, or Invalid Parameters status.

  3. Select the check box for the job that should be recovered.
  4. From the Job Actions menu, click Recover .
  5. To start the job recovery, click Yes.
