Delete a printer group definition

If the printer group you want to delete is a member of another printer group, you must first remove it from that printer group before you can delete it entirely.

  1. Access the Printer Group Definition (prtgrpdef) form:
    1. In a Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) session, use Form Transfer (F8).
    2. In the Form ID field on the Form Transfer form, type prtgrpdef and click the OK button or press Enter.
  2. On the Printer Group Definition form, select the printer group you want to delete.
  3. Press Delete (F9).

If the printer group to be deleted has been assigned to any users, prtgrpdef displays a subform requesting a replacement printer group. The replacement printer group must be a valid printer group defined by prtgrpdef . You must supply a replacement or you cannot delete the printer group.

If the printer group you are deleting is a sub-group of another printer group, the utility forces you to delete all references to the printer group that you are trying to delete before finally deleting it.

If a user's default printer access is removed because of the deletion the prtgrpdef utility displays a subform requesting a replacement printer.

  4. Press Enter twice.
