Setting Up a Non-Lawson Batch Job

Non-Lawson Batch Jobs (LA200) assigns a job name and user name to a job that is not a part of the Lawson applications or that has not been put on the Lawson menus. You can then use Job Streams to include the non-Lawson job in a Lawson job stream.

To define a non-Lawson batch job.

  1. Access Non-Lawson Batch Jobs (LA200) through Lawson for Infor Ming.le or the Lawson Interface Desktop.
  2. On Non-Lawson Batch Jobs (LA200), consider the following fields:
    Field Description
Job Name Identifies this set of report parameters by name. They can then be retrieved by name when this report is executed again or is part of a job stream.
Job Description Descriptive text to identify this parameter set.
User Name The name from the user profile of the user running this job.
Data Area/ID Display only. The data area or data ID the job is running under.
Is failure critical If you select Yes, then if this job fails and is part of a job stream, any steps or jobs in the job stream that follow this job will not be executed.
    Command

The command you want the job to execute. For example

    CALL MYPROG

    CALL ABC PARM(‘parameters')

    DSPLIB MYLIB *PRINT

  3. Save your entry:
    • Choose Add if you are adding a new job definition.

    • Choose Change if you are changing an existing job definition.

    • Choose Delete if you are deleting a job definition.
