Changing a Waiting Job
Use this procedure to make changes to a waiting job. You can change the job queue, start date, and start time parameters for a waiting job. The new submission parameters override submission parameters set elsewhere for the job.
To change a waiting job
- On the Waiting Jobs form of the Job Scheduler, select the job you want to change.
- Click Change.
-
In the Change Job window, consider the following fields.
- Job Queue
-
The new job queue.
- Start Date
-
The new start date.
If there is no start date displaying or if you do not assign a start date, Job Scheduler submits the job on the current date.
- Start Time
-
The new start time in 24-hour time.
If there is no start time displaying or if you do not assign a start time, Job Scheduler submits the job on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Job Status
-
If the job status is either Hold, Waiting, or Invalid Params, you can change the status by pressing Mark or Next.
You can change the status of a Hold job to Waiting; you can change the status of a Waiting job to Hold.
You must change the job parameters for a job with an Invalid Params status before you try to resubmit the job. You can then change the status to Waiting or Hold.
Note: Once a job is put on Hold, you must restart it manually before it can continue executing. If the Job Status field displays a status other than Hold, Waiting, or Invalid Params, you cannot access this field.
-
Click OK (the green check mark) to save the changes.
Job Scheduler puts the changes on the job line for the selected job. If the changes enabled the job to become active, the Job Scheduler displays the message, “Job has been changed and turned active.”
