Recovering a Waiting Job

Use this procedure to recover jobs with a status of Needs Recovery. A job with a Needs Recovery status indicates that the job failed during the initial execution.

Note: Before you try to recover the job, you must correct the problem with the job.

Recovery executions use restart information (as appropriate) to continue processing from the point where the initial execution failed. For a multiple-step job, recovery begins with the step shown on the Waiting Jobs form.

A job with a Waiting Recovery status uses the same program as a job with a Needs Recovery status. Therefore, you cannot run a Waiting Recovery job until you recover the Needs Recovery job with the problem program.

To recover a waiting job

  1. On the Waiting Jobs form of the Job Scheduler, select the job you want to recover.
  2. From the Actions menu, select Recover.
  3. Click OK.

After you recover a job and it is submitted to the designated job queue, Job Scheduler removes it from the Waiting Jobs form and adds it to the Active Jobs form.
