To define a conditional rule

  1. To define a conditional statement on the Rule Definition form of the Database Definition tool, press Select (F4) or DefineĀ (F6) and choose If.
  2. In the Select A Condition subform, choose an existing condition for the If (Condition) statement.

    Choose New Condition to define a new condition. For more information, see Defining Conditions.

  3. Define rules for the If (Condition) statement. For more information, see Defining Conditions.

    If rules existed before you defined the If (Condition) statement, the form indents the rules below the If (Condition) statement.

  4. Define an Else clause for the If (Condition) statement.
    1. Press Select (F4) or Define (F6) and choose Else.
    2. Define rules for the Else clause.
