Libraries
The Lawson system uses the following libraries for programs, source code, and other files. The name of the Environment library is the same as the name of the Environment and, as a best practice, the library names of the SQL collection and application libraries should be based on the name of the Environment. The names may be changed but only during initial installation.
Environment Program Library
The default name of this library is the name of the Environment, for example, LAW9. This library contains the Environment programs and modules, LOGAN product line programs and source code (for web access), service programs, and binding directories. (A module is compiled source code that is not runnable in itself, and serves as building blocks for other programs. Service programs are collections of runnable procedures and available data items directly accessible by other ILE programs or service programs. A binding directory contains the names of modules and service programs that may be needed by ILE programs or service programs.)
Application Program Library
By convention, the name of this library is the Environment name plus "PGM." This library contains the application program objects and work files.
Data Libraries
You will have at least three libraries for data: one (or more) for application data, one for GEN data (data needed by the Environment, such as security and database definitions), and one for LOGAN product line data (such as authorized web users, bookmarks, and groups).
