Reserve system ports

You will need to reserve approximately 50 ports.

You can use the netstat command to determine if ports are available. (At an OS/400 command line, type netstat and then select option 3.) The only way to determine if all local ports are available is to have all products using ports up and running.

Note: WebSphere ND delivers a pre-created Deployment Manager instance using the following ports as defaults:

7277, 8879, 9043, 9060, 9100, 9352, 9401-9403, and 9809.

To avoid port conflicts, consider WebSphere port usage when identifying ports you will use for the Lawson system.

Use the breakdown that follows to determine the number of ports that you need. All ports are required unless otherwise stated. This breakdown leaves approximately 10 free ports for future use.
  • 1 port: Apache HTTP Server (2 if you are using SSL).

  • 30 ports: Internal use by the WebSphere Deployment Manager Node Agent (11 ports for the node profile) and the WebSphere Application Server (17 ports). Additional WebSphere Application Servers under the same node will each require 17 additional ports.

  • 1 port: Security server (2 if you are using SSL).

  • 1 port: Used by Lawson Interface Desktop (LID).

  • 3 ports: Process Server.
