Setting up the LDAP

Infor Lawson System Foundation requires an LDAP to store and manage user information. For supported LDAP version information, see System Requirements.

The following LDAP options are available:

  • You can create a new LDAP instance for Lawson users.

    -or-

  • You can use an existing LDAP instance that already contains users, and import Lawson metadata to that instance.

    Note: If you install Lawson using this option, changes will be made to your LDAP schema.

The following configurations are supported:

  • LDAP on IBM i

    You should install multiple Environments using a single LDAP instance. You must create a unique Distinguished Name (DN) for each Environment you install. You must also create a DN for resources under the DN for the Environment.

  • Remote UNIX or Windows LDAP only

    You must create a separate instance of the LDAP for each Lawson Environment you install.

    The Lawson installation process will create a DN for resources within the DN you create for Lawson.
