Migrating the ISC database data from Derby to an RDBMS

Upon successfully switching the Infor System Console database from Derby to an RDBMS, the Derby database data should be migrated from Derby to the RDBMS.

If you proceed to use the Infor System Console without migrating the Derby data to the RDBMS, you will be prompted with a message on the home page of the Infor System Console. The Infor System Console will still work even without migrating the Derby data to your RDBMS. However, the pop-up message will persist until the migration is completed. If ISC is used but then a migration was executed at a later date, you may encounter some problems with the data migration. Infor therefore recommends performing the data migration immediately after installing the ISC database in an RDBMS.

To migrate data from Derby to your RDBMS:

  1. In a command line session for a running Infor Lawson System Foundation environment, navigate to $GENDIR/assembly/install/lsmm.
  2. At the command line, type

    java -jar RDBMSDataMigration.jar

  3. When prompted, provide the ISC passkey.
  4. Wait for the data migration to complete. The data migration execution time may vary depending on the amount of data.
  5. If errors occur, you can review them in the data migration logs in Infor Lawson System Foundation environment, navigate to $GENDIR/assembly/install/lsmm/RDBMS. The error log files are separated by table name.
