What is Infor Security Services?

Infor Security Services is a desktop tool for managing actors/users and for configuring the security system for Infor Lawson System Foundation and Infor Landmark Technology. You can use the tool to:

Add and maintain actor / user records, including all attributes related to users
Federate multiple systems, such as Infor Lawson System Foundation and Infor Landmark Technology.

For example, suppose users at your site use the Talent Management suite (an application suite based on Infor Landmark Technology) and other users run AP (an application based on Infor Lawson System Foundation) and some use both applications. Infor Security Services lets you add all users to both systems at one time.

Set up and configure Infor Security Services, a one-time set of procedures.
Federate two standalone systems, for example, Infor Lawson System Foundation and Infor Landmark Technology.
Perform routine procedures like adding and deleting users.

Infor Security Services terminology and concepts


Term	Meaning
authentication	The mechanism by which users present credentials for accessing an Infor Lawson. Infor Lawson supports several authentication methods.
Distributed Security Package (DSP)	Infor Lawson deliverable that contains ISS and tools to enable single sign-on.
federated system	Infor Lawson uses this term to refer to two systems (for example, Infor Lawson and Infor Landmark Technology) sharing user information so that both systems can participate in "single sign-on." One system serves as the "primary authentication service." A synchronization process must be run to federated systems. ISS is the tool that lets you perform this synchronization. More details about how synchronization works and how to perform a federation are in other sections of this document.
Infor Security Services (ISS)	A system that lets security system administrators perform system setup and maintenance tasks, including such tasks as federating a system and perform tasks related to user provisioning.
Infor Security Administrator	An Infor Lawson System Foundation tool for performing some additional security-related tasks, including writing security rules and user provisioning. Information about using this tool is in Resources and Security Administration Guide.
single sign-on	When single sign-on is configured, users can access multiple Infor Lawson systems in a single session while authenticating only one time.
