Adding an Environment / Operating System Identity on UNIX or IBM i

Lawson users who run batch jobs or use the command line access to run Lawson Environment utilities must have an identity on the Environment / OS service. This procedure describes how to add an identity on the Environment / OS service for a user on UNIX or IBM i platforms (not Windows).

In this procedure, you are linking a Lawson RMID (unique Lawson user ID) to an existing operating system user. This can be the user's own OS ID or that of another existing OS user. If you are linking to another OS user, it cannot be the users "lawson" or "lawenv_system."

To add an Environment / OS identity on UNIX or System i

  1. From the Add Identities dialog box, select the operating system from the list of services in the left pane. The OS service name should be the same as the Lawson Environment you are working in.

A dialog box for user name and password appears.

  2. Type the user ID and password for the user. (This cannot be the users "lawson" or "lawenv_system.")
  3. Click Edit and then click Add.

You should see the message "Identity added."

You are now ready to add the SSOP identity for this user.

For more information, see the section "Adding an SSOP Identity for a User".
