Compact Transactions

Transaction time for users who connect via slow networks.

In a compact transaction, the transaction packet size is trimmed by eliminating the "_f" from a field number and ignoring blank fields. Reconfiguring a packet has some overhead, up to one second of up-front processing time. For this reason, compact transactions should be enabled only for users on slow networks.

Enabling compact transactions for users

if you need a role that enables compact transactions, select the "Use compact transaction" option for the role. This option appears on the General tab of Role Manager. If a checkmark appears in front of the option, it is enabled.

Assign compact transactions to users by creating a role (for example, dialup.xml) and assigning the role only to users who need it. Do not enable compact transactions in your default role.
