The Indian Central and State Governments have set up the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), which is a not-for-profit non-government company that provides a shared IT infrastructure and services to the Central and State Governments and deliver a standard and uniform interface for tax payers. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal offers front-end services for registration, returns, and payments for all taxpayers, as well as IT systems for certain states that handle processing of returns, registrations, audits, assessments, appeals, and more. States, accounting authorities, the Reserve Bank of India, other banks, and software providers are also preparing their IT infrastructure for GST administration.
Tax return data is extracted from LSP and produces CSV files for manual submission to the Application Service Provider (ASP).
