Fichier des écritures comptables (FEC) fichedescriptive_A47A-I-VIII-7.xsd 7

The French Fichier des écritures comptables is an annual report that is generated and provided to tax auditors on request. This audit file can be a Flat file or an XML file. It is mandatory to use the French statutory chart of account Plan Comptable Général (PCG) for FEC.

This report runs for a year and starts with showing the opening balances at the start of the year, then all the GL Journals for the year. Each Journal must have a sequential Journal or Protocol number that continues from one year to the next.

Note: This report is not sent to the government automatically.

Data is selected from the database starting with the opening period of the year, and then journals are numbered in arrival sequence within the period.

Although ERPs can provide these Protocol numbers often, they cannot do so until the end of a period. LSP does not expect the ERP to republish all journals with the Protocol number, so it produces its own.

France has a legal Chart of Accounts. The report must use this chart so that translation utilities are available.
