Connecting External Files

Use this option to have ION deliver external files directly to the LSP database from a local location/server and from LSP to a local location/server.

The connection differs slightly depending on your deployment.

For on premises, you can use File Connection Points (FCPs) to get the files into ION.

For cloud deployments, use FCPs to get the files into ION but you have to use either FTP and ION Enterprise Connector or SFTP. For SFTP, you do not need the Enterprise Connector.

Note: You can select from several SFTP products on the market.

After ION has retrieved the file, then it is automatically forwarded to LSP, provided that a document flow has been configured in ION to allow for this transfer.
