Upgrading existing components
This section lists the existing components and the corresponding actions required.
Currently, there is no facility that upgrades existing components without deleting the changed components, and imports the new version.
It is recommended to delete the existing components for a clean environment and have all components synced with the same version. This applies for both Outbound and Inbound messages whichever applies.
This table shows the list of components that can change and the actions
required for each case:
Note: You must follow the
process in the order that they are listed.

| Application BODs | For on-premises installations, import the new application BODs
package into ION desk. For cloud tenants, the application nouns
are provisioned from the cloud repository. Note: This component is applicable to TradeStatistics and TaxReporting
messages.

| Custom BODs | You are not required to remove existing nouns that have been
changed in a new package. Import the new custom BOD package. The last package imported is used by ION. |
| Document flow | Deactivate and delete the existing document flow. |
| Mappings that are part of a document flow | Delete the existing mappings associated with the deleted document flow. |
| File format template | Delete from the connection point and delete the existing file format template. |
| Workflows | Deactivate and delete the existing workflows. |
| Format file | Delete the existing code list before you import the new code list. |
