Updating the document flow

Prerequisites:

  • Uploaded File Template of the BOD in ION
  • Uploaded Custom BOD of the BOD in ION

As you add support for additional countries, you must modify your ExternalFiles document flow so that it can handle files from other sources.

  1. In ION Desk, select Connect > Data Flows.
    A list of existing document flows is displayed.
  2. Select ExternalFiles_LSP document flow.
  3. Click ExternalFiles box then click Details.
  4. In the Documents tab, click Add (+).
  5. Ensure to select Read a file from a folder from Scenario.
  6. Under File Format Template, select the BOD noun of your new file.
  7. Under Document Verb, select the BOD verb of your new file.
  8. On the Read File Settings pane, specify this information:
    Field Note
    Create non-existing folder(s) Enable this feature.
    Read Location Specify the folder where the file would be read or copy the existing Read Location of the other documents and update. For example:
    • Existing Read Location: \E:\Mexico_cfdi\Invoices
    • New Read Location: \E:\United Kingdom\VATReturns
    Error Location Copy the read location then add the suffix ‘\error’.
    File name pattern Specify *.*
    After Read Select Move File.
    Archive Location Copy the read location then add the suffix ‘\archive’.
    Note: Repeat steps 4 – 8 if there are multiple files.
  9. Click Test to verify whether the connection is working.
    Note: A message is displayed that indicates whether the test is successful. If the test is unsuccessful, correct the connection details and try again.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Go back to the document flow.
  12. Click the document icon between ExternalFiles and LSP in.
  13. Select all the required documents.

  14. Click Save.
  15. Click the LSP in box.
  16. Under Application Activity Properties, click the plus (+) sign.
  17. Specify the selected LSP connection point to add BODs used in the document flow.
  18. Return to the document flow.
  19. Click Save.
  20. Click Reactivate.
