Days of Inventory

The Days of Inventory widget is designed to assist the user with procurement planning. This widget indicates the duration for which an item is available for use based on the current inventory quantities.

You can use the Configure Widget screen to modify the settings.

The Days of Inventory widget displays the list of items and the number of days each item is available for the planned demand. The days are calculated based on the current inventory level and the expected outbound movements or transactions. In addition, the blocked inventory can also be considered.
Note: The inventory quantities (availability) of the items are measured by the end of the day.

This widget retrieves the details of the items from Warehouse-Item Inventory (whwmd2515m000), Site-Item Inventory (whwmd4504m100), and Company-Item Inventory (whwmd4100m100) sessions in Infor LN to calculate the inventory levels. The widget considers the items only with the ‘On Hand’ or ‘Blocked’ status.

The widget retrieves the details from the Planned Inventory Transactions (whinp1500m000) session in Infor LN to calculate the demand for the upcoming days based on the Planned Issues type.

On the widget header, you can:
  • Search for an item using the Item Code or Description.
  • Click the Warehouse or Site, or Company description to view the details of the widget configuration.
  • Click dropdown to sort the list. The records are displayed in the ascending order of days if the Days of Inventory is selected. You can also view the records in the alphabetical order if the Alphabetical is selected.

In the list, each item record displays details such as the Item Code, Item description, and total number of days of the item. You can scroll to retrieve and view the new set of existing records from Infor LN.

You can click drill back to drill back to the Infor LN session. The Warehouse - Item Inventory Ownership (whwmd2615m000) session in Infor LN is displayed. However, if the widget is configured to Site or Company which includes All Warehouses the detail screen of Site – Item Inventory (whwmd4504m100) session or Company - Item Inventory (whwmd4100m100) session is displayed.

You must click on the item record to view the bar chart in a window.

On the header you can view the code and description of the item. You can use these options:

previous record: View the previous item record.

next record: View the next item record.

drill back : Drill back to the Infor LN session.

close icon : Close the window. The application displays the widget.

By default, the bar chart represents the item availability for 14 days starting from the current date. If required, the bars on the chart can be configured to seven or below seven on the Configure Widget screen.

Color code on the graph

These color codes are used to indicate the inventory:

Blue: Indicates the items are available for day (On Hand). You can rest the pointer on the bar to view the available quantity of the items. The values are equal to or more than zero.

Red: Indicates that the items are not sufficient for day (Projected Shortage). You can rest the pointer on the bar to view the expected quantity of the items. The values represent the difference between the planned outbound transactions and the current On Hand inventory level.
