Help Version Fallbacks (uigwt0014m000)
Use this page to manage the version fallbacks for online help retrieval.
If help is requested from uploaded archives, this matching algorithm is performed:
- Check if help for the requested version and the requested language is available. If found, return this help. Otherwise proceed with the next step.
- Check if help for the requested version and the fallback language is available. If found, return this help. Otherwise proceed with the next step.
- Check if help for the "derived from" version and the requested language is available. If found, return this help. Otherwise proceed with the next step.
- Check if help for the "derived from" version and the fallback language is available. If found, return this help. Otherwise proceed with the next step.
- If there are no more "derived from" versions, return an error page. Otherwise proceed with step 3 using the next "derived from" version.
Example
You define the "ln B60asy73 to B61Ua8stnd" fallback. If B60asy73 help is not found, all requests for LN help with version B60asy73 fall back to B61Ua8stnd help.
You can also use wildcards in the fallback definition.
Example
You define the "ln B60* to B61Uastnd" fallback. All requests for LN help with versions that start with "B60" fall back to B61Uastnd help.
If help is served from https://docs.infor.com/, the defined version fallbacks pertain to the LN commercial release, such as 10.4, and are applied unconditionally: even if help content for the requested release is available on https://docs.infor.com/, the help is served for the fallback release. If you use multiple entries, you can create a chain of fallbacks. If the help is not available on https://docs.infor.com/, an error message is displayed.
Example
You define the "ln 10.5 to 10.4" and "ln 10.4 to 10.3" fallbacks. All requests for LN application 10.5 help are served with help content for LN application 10.3.
