Use this page to configure the connection details for Infor LN environments.

General tab

This tab contains the fields that you must specify for each environment.

This table shows the fields in the General tab:

Field Group Field Description
Connection Environment Name The name of the environment.
Hostname The network host name of the LN server.
BSE Path The directory where the LN Software Environment resides.
Protocol The communication protocol between the LN UI server and the LN server. You can select these protocols:
  • rexec
  • BaanLogin
  • BaanLogin SSL
Port The communications port number. The value must correspond to the configuration of the ES Logic Service.
Bshell Name The Bshell name of the LN environment to which you want to connect. This usually is bshell.
Command Any additional commands and environment settings that must be used for the connection to the LN server.
Workbenches Workbench Web Server Base URL The base URL for workbenches that are deployed at the workbench web server. This URL is used only if EMPTY is specified in the Workbench Web Server Base URL field in the Workbench Parameters (HTML based) (ttaad7131m000) session.
System Messages Poll for system messages If this check box is selected, system messages which are defined on the LN server are displayed to the user. These system messages are specified in the ${BSE}/lib/systemmess file.

System messages are displayed in these situations:

  • A user starts LN UI.
  • The system message file is modified on the server. At regular intervals this file is checked for modifications. You must specify the interval in the Poll Interval field.
Poll Interval The poll interval, in seconds, for checking the system message. See the Poll for system messages field.
Always show changed system message in pop-up window This check box indicates how users that are logged on are notified of a changed system message:
  • If this check box is selected and the system message changes, a pop-up window with the system message is displayed.
  • If this check box is cleared, a system message change is indicated by a flashing icon in the status bar.
Stand-alone Mode Show LN Navigator in-context application This setting has only effect if LN UI is used in stand-alone mode.

If this check box is selected, the LN Navigator in-context application is displayed in the stand-alone LN UI page.

Show ODM in-context application This setting has only effect if LN UI is used in stand-alone mode.

If this check box is selected, the ODM in-context application is displayed in the stand-alone LN UI page.

Show D.3 in-context application This setting has only effect if LN UI is used in stand-alone mode.

If this check box is selected, the D.3 in-context application is displayed in the stand-alone LN UI page.

Appearance tab

Note: The settings in the Stand-alone Logo and Title group only have effect if LN UI is used in stand-alone mode.

This table shows the fields in the Appearance tab:

Field Group Field Description
Stand-alone Logo and Title Logo An image, such as a company logo, that is displayed at the top of the landing page.
Title The title that is displayed at the top of the landing page.
Background color The title's background color.
Default Skin Skin The name of the predefined skin that determines the appearance of LN UI.
Text Editor Font name The name of the font, such as MingLiu, for the text editor.

BaanLogin SSL tab

This tab contains the fields that you must specify if the environment uses the BaanLogin SSL protocol.

This table shows the fields in the BaanLogin SSL tab:

Field Group Field Description
Support for Multiple Domains Send User Principal Name (UPN) instead of SAM account name Select this check box if the LN server is configured to expect the UPN instead of the SAM account name during connection setup.
Keystore Management LN Username The name of the LN user that is authorized to update the BaanLogin SSL keystore on the LN Server.
LN Password The password of the LN user that is authorized to update the BaanLogin SSL keystore on the LN Server.
BaanLogin Daemon Path The BSE path of the BaanLogin Daemon.
BaanLogin SSL Keystores - Generate/Update Click this button to create or update the BaanLogin SSL keystores of the LN UI and the LN Server.
Force UI server key pair update Select this check box to ensure that a new key pair is generated for the local BaanLogin SSL keystore. The certificate in the remote BaanLogin SSL keystore is updated accordingly. The key pair and certificate are valid for 30 years.
Force LN app server key pair update Select this check box to ensure that a new key pair is generated for the remote BaanLogin SSL keystore. The certificate in the local BaanLogin SSL keystore is updated accordingly. The key pair and certificate are valid for 30 years.
Log This field shows diagnostic information after the keystores are created/generated.

Test tab

Use this tab to verify the environment details by creating a test connection.

This table shows the fields in the Test tab:

Field - button Description
Username If the environment uses the rexec or BaanLogin protocol, you must specify a valid LN user name. In all other situations, you must specify a valid domain username.
Password If the environment uses the rexec or BaanLogin protocol, you must specify the password of the LN user.
Connection - Test Click this button to test the connection.

LN Client Service tab

This table shows the fields in the LN Client Service tab:

Field Group Field - button Description
Client connection settings Service Endpoint URL The URL that clients must use to connect to the LN Client Service. If an application URL is configured in the Login Configuration (uigwt0002m000) session, the value is displayed here. Otherwise, the URL is created from the fully qualified domain name of the UI server and the HTTPS port that is configured in the Login Configuration (uigwt0002m000) session.
Environment Name The name of the environment.
Settings File - Download Click this button to generate a file, in JSON format, that contains the settings. A dialog box to download the file is displayed.
QR Code - Download Click this button to create a QR code that contains the settings. A dialog box to download the image file is displayed.
