Using forms

Form regions are always labeled as 'detail form'. The form contains form controls such as text fields, labels, and drop-down list boxes, usually contained in a 'group region' with a label. You can access these regions through the JAWS regions dialog box (Ctrl+Insert+R).

Some form controls can be disabled or read-only. Therefore, we recommend that you browse a form using the virtual cursor to jump from control to control to avoid skipping any controls. For the best user experience, set JAWS to 'auto forms mode'. The form region also announces whether there are any required fields; the individual fields can be recognized by a 'required field' label preceding the required control. The usage of each control is briefly described in the 'quick reference' section.

There can be multiple form regions in one session; they can also be nested inside, for example, a tab panel.
