CPI/ SPI Trend by Project
The cost performance index (CPI) and schedule performance index (SPI) values are calculated using the planned value, earned value and the actual value of the project, for the specified period.
- Cost Performance Index shows the value earned for the amount spent on the project.
- Schedule Performance Index shows whether the project can be delivered late, on time, or early.
To view the CPI/ SPI Trend by Project metric, go to
.CPI = Earned Value (EV)/ Actual Costs (AC)
- If CPI < 1, the costs are not incurred efficiently on the project.
- If CPI = 1, the project is on track
- If CPI > 1, the costs are incurred efficiently on the project
SPI = Earned Value (EV)/ Planned Value (PV)
- If SPI < 1, the project is behind schedule
- If SPI = 1, the project can be completed on the date scheduled by the plan
- If SPI > 1, the project can be completed prior to the scheduled date
