Count and count distinct

Count and count distinct are different. Count sums all instances, where count distinct determines unique instances. Count distinct requires a full table scan and takes more time.

Count distinct in LN Analytics does not consider companies. If the same item is used on sales order lines in multiple companies, this counts as one distinct item, regardless of whether companies share items.

An exception is applicable for count distinct on facts dimensions. If the same sales order exists in multiple companies, this counts as two distinct sales orders.

The custom subject area lists all dimension attributes and all fact measures. For each measure, you can select the date by which you want to analyze and choose the aggregation method.
