Add child taxonomy accounts

If the standard taxonomies in LN Analytics are not detailed enough, you can extend the taxonomy with your own taxonomy accounts by adding child taxonomy accounts.

To add (child) taxonomy accounts under existing (parent) taxonomy accounts, complete these steps:

  1. LN
    1. In the Taxonomies (tfgld1170m000) session, navigate to taxonomy accounts and add a KPI taxonomy account.
    2. Start the taxonomy account with C or K9 if you want the account to show up in the KPI list (embedded filter). This naming convention will avoid conflicts with taxonomy accounts that Infor delivers.
    3. To add a single level, specify sublevel 0 and specify a standard taxonomy account as parent account. Alternatively, you can create a multi-level structure under one of the existing taxonomy accounts.

A parent account must have a sublevel that is higher than the sublevel of its child accounts. If you add a child account under an account that has sublevel 0, you must change the sublevel of the account first.

To facilitate the extension of taxonomies, the sublevels are not numbered 0,1,2,3, etc., but 0, 5, 10, 15, etc. This enables you to add multiple levels of child accounts without the need to change sublevels of standard taxonomy accounts.

For example, if you want to add details to the IFRS revenue account, you can add these child accounts:

    • C001IFRS External Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue
    • C002IFRS Internal Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue
    • C003IFRS Other Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue

Or, if you want the 3 accounts to show up in the KPI filter in the dashboard:

    • K901IFRS External Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue
    • K902IFRS Internal Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue
    • K903IFRS Other Revenue with parent K001IFRS Revenue

The standard taxonomy account K001IFRS Revenue is at sublevel 0. To extend the account, you must change the sublevel of the standard account to 5 before you can add child accounts with sublevel 0.

  2. Birst Visualizer

The procedure to visualize finance KPIs is described in Extend list of Finance KPIs.

Create a new report to visualize additional levels of child taxonomy accounts.
